II Regions and countries

This section uses the names of countries, regions and polities to enable you to retrieve materials easiy. Their grouping should never be construed as the endorsement of any territorial claim.
Information on former states can often be found under the names of modern countries. Arbitrary choises have been made. For example, materials on the Songhai empire are stored under Mali. But the literature on a few former "communist" countries, like the Soviet Union, Czechoslovakia and Yugoslavia, remains under those headings.
In this section may be found books on trotskyist organisations, but information can also be found under III J B Fourth International.
