Paul Lafargue was a French journalist, politician, economist, essayist, writer, literary critic, and philosopher. He played a role in funeral. He was born on January 15, 1842 in Santiago de Cuba. He studied at University of Paris. He was député du Nord from October 25, 1891 until October 14, 1893. He was a member of International Workingmen's Association.
He married Laura Marx on April 2, 1868. His children include Charles Étienne Lafargue. He died of poison on November 26, 1911 in Draveil. He was buried at Père Lachaise Cemetery.
